PART 1: ZOE Personalized Nutrition

This video tracks my experience with ZOE; a nutrition program involving home test kits, an app, and some scientific muffins - all designed to help you understand how your individual body responds to what you eat.

Think of it as personalized nutrition - looking at your gut microbiome health, blood sugar and blood fat responses - so that, according to ZOE, you can “learn how to eat for your body” and “take back control of your health & weight”.

Those aren’t ordinary muffins… they’ve been scientifically created to challenge your metabolism in the name of science

The program is built on data from a series of studies known as PREDICT - said to be the largest nutrition studies of their kind, in collaboration with scientists from Massachusetts General Hospital, Stanford Medicine, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and King’s College London.

To explain the research behind ZOE, this video includes insights from the company’s scientific co-founder and genetic epidemiologist (plus, previous healthHackers guest), Professor Tim Spector.

TRANSPARENCY NOTE: When I review products, I am sometimes loaned the items. In this case, ZOE included blood and poop tests - tricky items to borrow. 🤣 ZOE sent me the kit and app to try out for free. As you know, my video reviews represent good-faith and honest opinion. The production of this video was not financed by ZOE.

The ZOE kit includes a poop test, a finger-prick blood test, a blood glucose monitor that you wear on your arm, plus those scientific muffins
